"Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance".
These days. we do hear many cases of plastic surgery and quite a number of them comes infact, from teenagers. This is shocking as it displays that many of these teenagers care alot for their appearance. They are becoming more vain and wants to look more pretty or more handsome.
The key question is, should teens be obsessed with their looks? Well, various effects would take place if they are. For example, teenagers will be distracted from their studies, always trying to look their best, spending precious time on putting makeup, earsticks and so on just to impress their peers. They will not be concentrared when studying. This will affect their grades. Not only is time wasted, money is wasted too, but unneccassary accessories and getting earings, bracelet and stuffs, perhaps ending up even more rebellious.
Another disadvantage would be getting hurt easily and being more emotional. Being very obsessive with her looks, when others make rude comments saying that she is ugly. The teenager might break down and be very depressed, having her looks as one of the highest priority. This might lead to death is some cases.
It is still very important to look appropriate and dress in the correct wear. However, being over-obssesive may not be a good idea. Yet, it is everyone dream to look the most handsome or pretty teen on Earth, but it is wrong to go overboard. Teens, must learn to control their desire.
Plastic surgery is not the only choice that can be made. Besides, it is expensive and not all operation might be successful. There are cases of failure and the consequences is severe, making the person look like a monster, instead of looking nicer. God has created us for who we are. Our appearance has been designated. What for change your look and disobey God if you look perfectly normal and fine?
One way to prevent teenagers to be over obsessed in appearance is to educate them on the harms that might have been bought. As a saying goes, "Beauty is on the eye of the beholder". Beauty is always on the inside, not the outside.

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
I agree with the statement. This tends to happen more on the female gender than the male.Such obsession is influenced by factors such as their friends and family, gossip in the newspaper, and the ever-changing modern ways of fashion.
It is due to the human nature that people try to make friends with others that look handsome or pretty, thus that person will have a lot of friends. As such, other people might feel jealous or inferior to that person, and try to improve themselves to that level hoping that they might be popular as well. However, such doings are insolent to your own body and to your family.Since you are as what you are,why change?Everyone is unique and no one is the same,so keep it that way. There is no need to 'Go with the Flow',it is better to remain natural.
Actually, taking plastic surgery is sometimes due to the person's fault him/herself.They did not take care of their faces in the early stagess such as a pimple outbreak or such, then they resort to plastic surgery to correct the problems with their faces earlier. However, they do not know about the risk and dangers of plastic surgery.Apart from the costly price,it might not work at all and even worst, you get scarred for life due to some unforeseen error during the surgery. The risk of doing plastic surgery and having faults is higher than applying pimple creams and such to your face and waiting for the natural process to occur.Even if plastic surgery was altered to have a 99% percent chance of success, the 1% of teenagers would become potential future depressed adults.Plastic surgery is hence the 'easy' way out when teenagers have a face that is not perfect to their opinion and want to correct it.
To end this topic,I would like to say that beauty is not only skin deep, and the only true beauty comes from the heart itself.Life doesn't consist of looking good, and anyway, you can't really see yourself, whats the big deal?

"TEENAGERS TODAY ARE TO OBSESSED WITH THEIR LOOKS.MANY OF THEM CONSIDER GETTING PLASTIC SURGERY TO ALTER THEIR APPEARANCE ."
I agree almost to a full extent with this statement. the current society is now full of youths, thus, naturally, the market is aimed at this generation to make money. shops with hair accessories, bags, designer brands just for teens are some examples. thus, wanting to look good and not "old style", teens are constantly trying to improve on their looks, so that people will have a good impression of them, and also, in some cases, attract attention from the opposite sex.showbiz are also another huge cause for teens who want to look good,as models or celebrities are often shown of all kinds of media.teens tend to regard such celebrities as idols, and wants to look as good as them.
Thus, due to this uprising, or the so-called "trend", some teens, usually girls, even go to the extent of operating on themselves so they would look appealing, or "perfect". such surgery is unnatural, using man's advanced technology to change something natural, which is the human body. plastic surgery performed on such teens mainly involves nose jobs, and other kinds of surgery performed on other parts of the body that some of us might deem inadequate.
Thus,in my opinion, teens nowadays are vry deeply obsessed with their looks indeed. their mindset has taken control of their life, and will affect their lifestyle.most of them will soon be over-obsessed with looks, and will start to neglect their studies, thus, gradually, not do well academically. some of them might even come to the extent of depression, afraid that the society may not accept them due to their looks.i think that such teens are hypochondriacs, who think too much. they should concentrate on their studies, and have a better future, and they can do whatever they want when they are financially and emotionally stable in life. it would not be wise to neglect your studies because of looks, and ruining your future in the end.also, the financial concern is also a worry. where do teens get the money to afford surgery? if they will resort to stealing or whatever illegal means of getting money, the answer for plastic surgery for teens would be a big "NO".
however, some teens have looks which are, distinctive in the wrong way,eg. scars, growth problems, etc. such problems would make it hard for the person to be accepted by the society. it is common for people to get away from or avoid people with undesired or unnatural looks, which is a cruel truth about the people today in the urban areas.if surgery means the person can return to the society and boost his ego,why not? that is,if he has the financial ability to afford it.
thus, the conclusion is that teens should just be the way they are. their friends will accept them the way they are, be it,their character, their style, etc.looks are only skin deep. what's important is the soul and the character and a set of virtues that it lives on.

"TEENAGERS TODAY ARE TO OBSESSED WITH THEIR LOOKS.MANY OF THEM CONSIDER GETTING PLASTIC SURGERY TO ALTER THEIR APPEARANCE ."
I agree to the statement as it is definitely true that teenagers today are really obsessed with their looks . As to what I think, most of this obsession occurs usually on teenage girls than to the boys . The girls usually bother about their looks as to whether they have ugly features for example a huge nose ; pimply face ; no dimples ; no eye lids ; fat thighs ; huge tummy ; etc. which to them they feel somehow left out as peers seems to have better of such features then them .
On the other hand , some will think that with those features it will allow them to look better so as to attract the opposite sex and feel un-left out . Surgery can though "solve" such problems teenagers have , however what they dont know and understand is that such dangerous risk they are about to take may lead to future regret and pain as to the side effects of the surgery ! Such side effects will however not take place immediately after the surgery BUT in 2-3 or less years time such effects like the drooping and dreading of skin and the stiffness of your face/body will happen when chemical hardens and imits harmful stuff that causes body to weaken !
The publicity of media and peer pressure is found out to be part of teenagers wanting to go for plastic surgery . As such media and peer pressure is forcing them to get desperate for features that will be great if they have had it . So, dear dear friends and peers should beware of such dangers before you go under the knife to get a boob job or rather thick juicy lips , as it may definitely lead to boob failure or sagging of lips!
In my opinion , surgery is never and will never ever be something i will do to myself as to me, being natural and true to yourself is the best and the most perfect to present yourself . Having fake noses that may fall off anytime does not make you any prettier then your natural flat noses! Looks doesn't really matters, so just BE YOURSELF ! :D

“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment.
I totally agree with the statement as teenagers these days are getting influenced by media, peer pressure and what they deem as cool or modern looks.Plastic surgery is however not a solution to the problem in my opinion. You are yourself already so why change your looks and attitude to be somebody you are not?It sure gives you self-esteem if it turns out well but is acting hip or cool really worth that amount of money and the acting for your whole life?
If it is a very serious scar or mark that causes you to feel extremely bad about it,obviously no one would object to remove it via plastic surgery but if its for trends like having a sharper nose when you have a flat one,its no big deal.Does a nose change your future?NO!I personally think plastic surgery for vainity and for trends are a complete waste of time and money.
I am sick and tired of hearing the phrase "beauty is only skin deep" and other morals but it cant be helped, its true.A beautiful heart always outshines a beautiful face so i cannot argue to that point.Putting on fake eyelids, nail polish at our age might be a little too much but it cannot be helped since us teenagers want to look good but a plastic surgery is completely to the extreme and i do not think anyone should do it at our age.We are still growing up and indecisive so if we regret this decision next time, surgery carries its risks so we will not be able to change back our looks perfectly back to what we looked like last time.

This is just to act guai.
It is natural for teenagers to be obsessed with their looks but there maybe some reasons for them to act this way. It maybe the influences of media, to fit in with their friends, to stand out more than the others and many other reasons. Also, we can see more and more advertisements on Facials and Slimming programmes on the televisions and the newspapers. And because of these media influences, teenagers nowadays have been paying more and more attention to their looks.Because of plastic surgery, many people are able to have a new, fresh look. And hence, more and more people are turning to plastic surgery. However, it is not 100% safe and may also have some side effects like having some scars, infections and others. It is also quite expensive to undergo plastic surgery. In conclusion, teenagers should be contented with their looks now and not turn to plastic surgery as it is not 100% safe. They could turn to beauty products, slimming programmes and many others.-Cheryl Lim
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment. i agree tottally with this statement. these days, young teenagers are getting obsessed to look good just to impress their friends or the opposite sex. i think this is mainly peer pressure and media. nowadays, models on television make teenagers think if they look like those models due to , they may get the attention of others and allow them to be popular among thier friends. if you are mentally matured, you will know that beauty is not whats on the outside, but its whats on the inside that counts. you need not change the outlook just to get your friends. true freinds look at your heart. like mine.=) ok. lets say you are going to the plastic surgeon to change your face. after the operation your doctor tells you that it was a failure and your face is forever scarred and cannot be changed back. at this point, you would regret it totally. and then you might fall into depression and go take pills or drugs and then you might end up jumping off the building. BAM!. your life has ended... tell me, was that worth it at all? NO. so i say that you should be happy with your own looks no matter how ugly you THINK you might be. you should not waste the money to alter your face. you should use it on some happy retirement and not on plastic surgeory. you will die anyway. so whats the use? be happy and live life the way it made you. TADA. Jonathan (25) =)
I believe that many teenagers today would want to go for plastic surgery to transubstantiate their appearances, but due to objection from their parents, they did not go for it. I believe that many teenagers today are not satisfied with their looks, and want to look cool or attract the opposite sex. However, a small minority might have approving parents, or simply parents who do not really bother about their child’s welfare, ergo causing them to go for plastic surgery to alter their looks.
Going for plastic surgery can cause multitudinous negative effects to one’s looks and health. For example, Michael Jackson used to be an African American, but undergoing plastic surgery to alter his skin colour caused his nose to develop serious complications. Furthermore, plastic surgery is fully artificial and could cause health problems. In addition, plastic surgery is extremely expensive and would cause a financially-strained person to become bankrupt.
Looks are just skin deep. When a person grows old, wrinkles would form. One’s exterior beauty can never last forever. What matters most is one’s inner beauty, which can last for a lifetime. Although it is perfectly human nature to bother about one’s looks, it is definitely not alright to actuate artificial means to alter one’s looks at the expense of their health. In a nutshell, I firmly believe that teenagers, despite how ugly they think they are, should never resort to plastic surgery. As I have mentioned above, beauty is just skin deep. It is more crucial to have inner beauty than exterior beauty. Therefore, plastic surgery should never be a thought in any teenager's mind.~ Ivan Bok
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment.i agree that teenagers are too obsessed with their looks . Personally , i can relate as i will check on my hair every now and than as well . However , i think that there should be a limit to how far one should go to for beauty . I find that putting on fake nails , eyelashes and hair is alright , even though many may consider it silly for such a young age , but plastic surgery is too drastic a move . Although unhappy with their imperfections , plastic surgery should not be an option at all . I find that it is disgusting and unreal . It may be excusable for some parts that are badly distorted or makes one unbearable to live with , but for little things such as having a flat nose that one is not satisfied with and turns to surgery is silly to me . A nose is just a nose , yes , it may look more visually appealing , but to achieve that , your real nose is cut apart and rearranged . I do not think this is worth it . Everyone considers looks , but i would personally enjoy going out with an average looking guy than one whose body parts has a possibility of falling off . However ultimately , its a person's heart that matters the most , isn't it ? Going for a plastic surgery may indicate that one has lost sight that personality matters . Yes , every teenager has vanity issues , but it is how you handle it . Love yourself for who you are . Your attitude has a stand as well , don't make appearances your all . ♥Cleo
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”First of all, i agree with this statement. Indeed, in our present society, everyone wants to look good. Nowadays, you can see girls, as young as 12, putting on make-up, styling their hair or spending money on things that will alter their appearance. However, as teenagers, we shouldn't be thinking too much about the way we look as we're still in the midst of our education. Some teenagers even go to the extent of getting a plastic surgery for a better image. Its okay if you want to look good, but getting plastic surgery is too overboard. Many think that after getting a plastic surgery, they will look better and the society will accept them more. However, when the surgery takes an unexpected wrong turn, it may leave you scarred or disfigured for life. It is also a waste of money. We can use this amount of money for better and much more useful things. These plastic surgery is mainly brought about by their low self-esteem. That's why, we shouldn't tease a person of their looks and figure because you'll cause him/her to have an even lower self-esteem. Friends accept friends for who they are, not how they look. Be it, pretty, ugly, thin, fat, our personality still remain the same. We can't judge people by how they look because looks doesn't matter. What matters is in the heart. Zoey :D (22)
It is natural for people to be concerned for their appearances and for teenagers, it matters more as other reasons are added on: one would like to fit in with his/her peers, to stand out among the rest, not satisfied with own appearance… These are some of the reasons why teens have considered undergoing plastic surgery to alter their appearance. From my view point, I think teenagers should not undergo plastic surgery. Firstly, they are putting themselves in much danger of a surgery failure. The consequences of a failure in a surgery might destroy one’s appearance and have side effects like allergies, swelling, scars, bruises and pains, to name a few. Hence, one shouldn’t consider plastic surgery as it might do more harm than good. Secondly, no one is perfect in their appearance and patients who go for plastic surgery are usually not contented with their own appearance so after the first surgery, the patient will most likely to go back for further adjustments as they are never satisfied. Hence, one should be contented with one’s appearance and don’t consider plastic surgery as a remedy. In conclusion, teenagers should not consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. They can find other alternatives like fashion, health care products, beauty products and many more. heidi 7
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment. I agree with the statement that teenagers these days are too obsessed with their looks. Sometimes they even consider getting plastic surgery just to change their current appearance which they dislike. However, i feel that this is not a wise decision to make as going for plastic surgery means you are destroying your natural image which was given by God. What's the point of going through all this pain and wasting all your money just to change your appearance? All the money you spent on your face could be spent on things which are more useful in life. Although its common for teenagers to want to look presentable and nice, but they should not be too obsessed and go for surgery. Teenagers want to change their appearance probably because of pressure from their peers or from the media. Some also want to alter their appearance because of scars that cannot be removed and burn marks. Also the surgery is not 100 percent successful so you mught regret it for life! Teenagers at this age should not make rash decision and wait till they are more mature. I also feel that external beauty is not as important as your internal beauty which is your heart. Plus, looks can be deceiving. However, its their decision and not ours.(: Sheena Choo (4)
I agree that teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks but i don't really agree that many if them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. Even if they consider getting plastic surgery, their parents won't allow, as plastic surgery is not 100% safe and effective. Plastic surgery is also expensive and parents usually won’t allow their children to take the risk and undergo plastic surgery. It is not guaranteed and it may not be safe. Plastic surgery is also not 100% guaranteed and effective as I mentioned earlier. There are a lot of cases where plastic surgeons use inferior quality materials on the patient which causes side effects, but many teenagers do not consider this point and think that plastic surgery will make one beautiful. A lot of celebrities also turn to plastic surgery to make themselves beautiful. This has caused an impact on teenagers who look up to the celebrities as idols and “role models”. Many teenagers now are obsessed with their looks. Everywhere you go, you will be able to see most of the teenagers dressed up to the nines when going out with friends, putting on makeup and styling their hair just for this occasion. Teenagers, especially girls are so obsessed with their looks that they even bring a mirror everywhere they go. Not only girls, even boys are so obsessed with their looks that they style their hair with gel. Take school uniforms as an example, many students like to fold their skirts and do not want to pin up their fringe is a sign of obsession with looks. Teenagers now also use cosmetic products to make themselves prettier, but some cosmetic products are harmful, so teenagers must be careful and use the appropriate one. Even though most of the teenagers are obsessed with their looks, a small number of them are not obsessed with their looks at all. They do not use cosmetic products and some are even too lazy to use them and they wear anything as long as it is comfortable. It may be a good thing as teachers and parents will agree, students should concentrate more on their studies then on their looks. Valerie Seah (16)
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”Firstly, I would like to state that I agree with this statement. Yes, teenagers today are vain, showy and obsessed with their appearance. I have met many teenagers that do care alot about how they look, and wouldn't mind spending money just to achieve the look that they want. However, considering plastic surgery is something overboard. Being concerned about your appearance is fine but it's definately not good if you're obsessed. Afterall, beauty is only skin deep, one must not be overly concerned about how they look outwardly, but should also think more about their character. I would like to pose two questions to these people - Who are you doing this for? Who exactly are you trying to please? Personally, I'd rather please myself. Plastic surgery may not always be a success and of course, there are risks involved. However I feel that this is a risk too high to take. It may disfigure you for life, but it may also help you to achieve the look you are going for. Plastic surgery is for life, it's not for you to change as and when you want. I believe that this mindset of teenagers today are highly influenced by idols and clelebrities, but this, unfortunately, is unavoidable. Therefore I suggest that parents counsel or send their childs for counselling to stop this mindset as soon as possible. In conclusion, I do not support teenagers who are willing to take such a big risk to change their outward appearance, but this is not for us to decide. The most we could do is just advise them along the way and hope that it is not a rash decision that they have made. Chua Jia Xin 5 2E5
In a classroom, it is not unusual to see teenagers adorning themselves. Teenagers are obessed in terms of looks mainly on their hair.Every morning before school, they spend close to an hour styling themselves especially their hair. It is understandable why teenagers are obesse with their looks, after all appearance matters and looks normally gives the first impression. But not to the extend of being too obessed with their looks. Teenagers waste their money on buy hair gels or other accesories mainly to stule their hair. They had spend such a long time in styling their hair but they end up being caught by the discipline master. They could actually use the time spend on styling their hair to sleep longer or maybe revise their homework. i'm not saying that its a crime to look good but keep the time needed short. Going or even considering to get a plastic surgery to alter their apperance is a downright absurbity. personally, i believe that plastic surgery has more cons then pros. There is no guarantee what you would look like after plastic surgery. Personally, i also feel that our face is a gift from god and we shouldn't try Oo change it maybe its time for us to accept thing just as they are. There is not really a need for teenagers to look exceptionally beautiful, just an average face would do. After all, in society next time what you would depend on is your wits.Or maybe your face look even worse after plastic surgery and you start to regret your decision. So why make that unsecured decision in the first place? All in all. you are what you are and for you are. So don't try to make unnecssary changes. Also, i feel that teenagers being obessed with their look is understandable but not to the extend of getting a plastic surgery. -baoyi(14)
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”
From a personal point of view, I feel that a reason to why teenagers are so obsessed with their looks is caused by the media. Teenagers often see celebrities, or their 'idols', on television, magazines, the papers, and so on. Being their idols, teenagers would want to be like them in how they look and what they wear as portrayed in the media . Hence they would turn to plastic surgery to have even the slightest detail of their face to be similar to their idol.
Another reason is peer pressure. Friends in the same clique would always influence each other. As the saying goes "to follow the crowd" is always a safe thing to do especially to someone who lacks confidence. Or sometimes a slight remark about his looks might cause that person to go under the knife, on impulse. However plastic surgery is not a 100% success. Hence going under the knife might even make you look worse. Moreover, plastic surgery is very expensive.
Being concern about your looks is a normal thing but do not let that concern turn to obsession. I feel that teenagers should not go for plastic surgery. Even after surgery, how can they be truly beautiful, how can they be truly satisfied. After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Kenan (32) ("\'(;..;)'/")
i think i'm phat D :
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.”i think that the cause of teenagers wanting to change their appearances by plastic surgery are those celebrities in which we see on television, movies, etc... those actors/actresses look "perfect" and glamorous and all, which makes teenagers want to be like them, therefore, they keep comparing themselves to them, making them their "role model". unconfident with how they look, they all turn to plastic surgery, because with that, they get to look "beautiful/handsome".i feel that it is okay to be concerned with our looks as we are going through a "phase" however, if it turns into obsession, that would be a problem. as plastic surgery is NOT 100% successful, there is a chance of them getting scarred for life/ going uglier. i think, by going under the knife, we are not appreciating our parents as going for plastic surgery means you are not happy with the looks your parents gave you. this thus makes your parents upset. also, as students, our main concern should be studying instead of being concerned with our looks. being teenagers and going through puberty, we still tend to grow therefore, we might grow out of the acne stages, and perhaps look better. going through plastic surgery also meant needing money, as students, where do we get all these money from? many will request from their parents while some turn to crime, which is NOT good. however, who are we to judge about other people and their looks? therefore, different people will have different opinion and whether or not they want to go through plastic surgery is their own personal choice. -jessica (3)
As a teenager, I can understand why some teenagers choose to go for plastic surgery. We are at an age when we like to be the most trendy and attractive among our peers. We will pay a lot of attention to our hairstyle, clothes and accessories. But I think that teenagers should accept their natural look, which they are born with and not make rash decisions by going for plastic surgery at such an early age. I have seen some seniors who look weird when they are in lower secondary but after some months, they actually grew prettier. Though I strongly feel that we teenagers should have the freedom to make our own decisions and adults should respect us for it. But towards plastic surgery, my advise to those teenagers are to wait till they are in twenties and have matured. They can then make the right decision and not live to regret with their mistakes!! Jaslyn Tan(17) 2e5
I think the teenagers today would consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance because of the influence by friends or television. Some teenagers may feel unconfident of their look that is why they would consider having plastic surgery. Some teenagers would consider having plastic surgery because it is a popular thing among their friends and just because they want to feel ‘cool’ that’s why they would resort to having plastic surgery. Being concern of your looks is fine but being obsessed with it is not a good thing because the more obsess u are with your looks the more things u would do just to look nice example having plastic surgery, Botox…..etc. Plastic surgery is not 100% safe as there are cases of failures and these failures maybe cause you to regret for your whole life. Plastic surgery is just temporary because when u grow old u will still look the same, old and saggy, so plastic surgery is just wasting money. The conclusion is if you want to waste money go do plastic surgery but if you do not want to waste money do not go for a plastic surgery. Tiffany Chan (2) 2E5
I think that everyone would want to look nice, as it is perfectly normal. Teenagers, as being growing adults would definitely be concerned about how they present themselves. However, I do not agree with them for being too obsessed with their looks. Because of looks people may look down on you, because of looks, you may lose out to people, but I think the most important thing is the person inside you. No matter how beautiful, handsome or ugly one may be, I think that you just have to believe in yourself and build up a character that would be admired by others. I do not agree with teenagers going for plastic surgeries. In fact, by going for a surgery, you would lose your true self. You will be seen differently, but that is not you. For me, I think the most important things that build up a person is your character and the hard work. For just a surgery, it will cost a lot of money and I think it definitely will not be worth it. Being a teenager, I think that going for a plastic surgery to alter their looks is not something we should decide now. If they really want to, they should wait till they become an adult to decide what they should do. Amanda Toh (21) 2e5
Personally, I do agree that teenagers are too obsessed with their looks, but only to a certain extent. I do have friends who are obsessed with their looks, but never heard of them wanting to undergo plastic surgery. I realized that those who are obsessed with their looks would often take what others say or comment about their appearance very seriously, even if it was only meant as a joke. Actually, not every teenager is obsessed with their looks. Some only like to look good, to save themselves from embarrassment in public. I think that teenagers who undergo plastic surgery are spendthrift and have no sense of saving or the importance of money as plastic surgery is expensive and risky as it is not guaranteed that the operation will be successful. Not only do they consider undergoing plastic surgery, some teenagers even go to the extent of not eating healthily so that they will get thinner, because to them, being skinny is looking good. I don't think looking not very good is a bad thing either. No matter how much one is ugly, they should accept how they naturally look like and not use ways to make themselves look better. Hence, I think it is wrong for them to think of having plastic surgery. Lydia (9) 2E5 :DDDDDD
I do not think that anybody even needs to alter their appearance unless they have disfigured their face with burns. Everybody has their own looks, which makes them unique form others. But, if you alter your appearance, it means you have damaged your sense of identity! So what if you do not look good. Personally, I think that I look alright thought sometimes I think that I look very ugly. It was then when I found out that it is what you think that makes what you are. If you keep thinking that you are ugly, you would feel that you are ugly. But actually, you are not, so why make your life worse and damage your face with plastic surgery which is suppose to help you look better, but in fact it is dangerous and harmful. Personally, I also do not know what the teenagers are thinking about though I am a teenage myself. I do not know why they want to go for plastic surgery which is so painful and wastage of money. But will it help you much? No, it will not! It will only boost your confidence, but in a wrong way and this will affect your character for the rest of your life. So, as a matter of fact, I do not think there is the need for plastic surgery, also that the teenagers’ thinking is wrong. This is I believe the reason of this problem is that the parents have not been teaching them in the correct manner, which cost them to think this way. EUGENE TENG (40) 2E5
“Teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance.” Comment. Write at least 200 words. I agree with the fact that many teenagers today are too obsessed with their looks. Many of them are so obsessed that they even consider getting plastic surgery to alter their appearance. Personally, I don't think that it is a good idea to go for a plastic surgery to alter your appearance, unless your have injured or left an unwanted mark on your face. Everyone has their own unique look, so that they will be different from others. It is alright wanting to look nice and presentable as teenagers are growing adults, but being obsessed with it is definitely not a good thing. This is because teenagers will want to look nicer than the others when they are obsessed, and thus they will spend a great deal of money on cosmetics and etc, instead on other much useful stuffs. It is also not proven that plastic surgery is 100 percent success surgery, hence there is a chance that the surgery will fail. If the surgery is a success, it would be a good thing. However, if it's the other way round, it would become a regrettable decision to have a plastic surgery. I also think that inner beauty is better than external beauty. If you are just an average looking person, but with a heart of gold, people will like you more compared to a good-looking person with a cold heart. In conclusion, going for a plastic surgery is not really a wise decision to make. Tan Tek Hsuen(39)2e5

After all, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
